Big things in 2011-2012?

With the bowling season upon us, this site is now back up and active. While I hope this site does big things this season, I want to hear everyone's personal goals for this year. I've made leaving comments easier on here as some have found out at the end of last season and during the summer months. It doesn't matter how big or small our goals are. They are what drives us and gets us back on the lanes after a tough night in league or a disappointing result in a tournament. It can be a simple goal like trying to improve your average by 10 pins, or a lofty goal like becoming a national champion. Whatever the size of the goal, I'd like to hear it.

My own personal goal is that I'd like to win a medal at the Canadian Open for this first time. I've been fortunate enough to have won 4 medals at Masters Nationals to date, but the Open is one that has seemed to elude me. I'm hoping that this year is the year that I finally attain my goal. If I happen to achieve that goal, then new goals will form and hopefully in time they'll be attained as well.

What do you hope you achieve this year? Let's hear what you got!

  1. My daughter begins bowling this year. I just hope she has the same passion for the game as I do.
As for myself. Once again making an Open team.

  2. I would like to average 225 this year, actually I would like to average 230 but after last year, I want to keep my goal reachable...

I would like to make the Open team and go to provincials, instead of watching, and heck, maybe even nationals!

I also have a goal of making the cut in at least 1 cash tournament this year.

AND lastly, have as much fun as possible, and meet more new people in this bowling world... I am excited for the 2011/2012 season,

    Good luck everyone!

  3. I would have to say the same as my good buddy Jeffy. win a medal at the National Open. Mine would be a little more specific, as I have won a medal in all other divisions of the open (mixed, ladies as a coach of course and singles) the Men's National team medal has eluded us. I hope this is the year, however woul have to start by making a team in our difficult zone and then also make it through provincials which is never an easy task.

to all of you, a great year and good bowling

  4. Hope to see more great posts this coming season!

As for goals for the upcoming season, I do have a few. Firstly, I want to get my average back to 240+ in both of my leagues. I've been 230-235 for the last few seasons and dipped to the mid 220's last year (though there were extenuating circumstances for that).

Secondly is to finally make Open nationals. I've been close a few times but have never been able to get over the hump.

Finally, I want to continue improving my tournament game. I've made some strides over the last few seasons (oddly enough, considering my league average over the same period has decreased) and I want to contend in some of the major cash tournaments.

Good luck to all for the upcoming season.
